Violin

I love the versatility of the violin - it has such capacity for expression in the range of sounds it can produce.

With plucking, bowing, single notes, chords, harmonics and much more, there is a lot to learn, but it all makes playing the violin very rewarding.

Clarinet

The clarinet is very flexible, equally comfortable in jazz or classical music.

The rich chocolaty sounds of the low notes with the clarity of the upper register make the clarinet very satisfying to play.

Saxophone 2

Saxophone

Instantly identifiable, the saxophone is a striking instrument with a striking sound.

I love how fun it is to play the saxophone, and particularly enjoy blues, swing and jazz.

Recorder

Recorder

Although often associated with children, the recorder deserves more credit. Available in different sizes, it is accessible and fun to play.

It is not only a wonderful instrument in it's own right, it is a great gateway instrument to learning other woodwind instruments such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, and more.

Flute and notes

Flute

Elegant, graceful, and often associated with classical music, the flute also sounds scintillating in jazz and pop.

Harder than it initially appears, the flute has a beautiful, distinctive sound.

Ukulele

A very fun, accessible instrument, the ukulele is delightful to play!

I recommend the ukulele to anyone who wants to enjoy a good sing-a-long.

The ukuele is also a perfect gateway instrument to guitar and bass guitar.
